The following link is for the very large outdoor āGā scale railroad layout that astonished me. The āGā scale is considerably larger than the Lionel trains of my youth, and there were a couple of things that made this even more spectacular: each locomotive was equipped with a miniature sound system that employed hidden special speakers that produced believable train sounds of the engine chugging and when they began to slow to a stop, the sound changed to emulate perfectly the sound of the air breaks releasing; and, the layout consisted of dozens of hand made trestle type bridges from the simple to the complex, and one such trestle is purported to be the largest of any indoor or outdoor model railroad layout. At any given time there were several dozen trains running on hundreds of feet of track. If you are a model railroad enthusiast, this is something worth seeing and hearing.
